Christmas tax returns

HMRC has confirmed that an astonishing 620 people filed UK tax returns on Christmas Day last year, using the online e-filing system.

The figure comprises 396 individuals who completed their own self-assessment return, with the remaining 224 being accountants submitting returns on behalf of clients.

The previous Christmas Day saw 489 self-assessment returns received. Of these, 99 came from agents and 390 by individuals.

Someone needs to buy these people better presents!

That just means one thing – people are getting lazy :) but that’s fine too. Let the professionals do their job ;)
